IRSC Takes Two From Polk State

On Saturday afternoon in Ft. Pierce the Lady Pioneers took both games of a double-header in softball defeating Polk State College 8-7 and 11-3.


IRSC took Saturday's opening game in dramatic fashion, with an 8-7 walk-off victory over Polk State. The game was tied at seven in the bottom of the eighth when Brooke Mathews's sacrifice fly to centerfield scored the winning run in the hard fought, come from behind, 8-7 win over the Eagles of Polk State.


IRSC collected 13 hits. Madison Headley and Taylor Dyal had three hits each to lead the offense.


IRSC put up seven runs in the fifth inning propelling IRSC to an 11-3 game two win over Polk State.


Dawn Bodrug led the IRSC to victory in the circle. She went four innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out four. Hailey Astill threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.


The Pioneers racked up ten hits on the day. Mya Maddox, Juliana Speranza, and Taylor Dyal each had multiple hits for Indian River.


The team travels on Sunday to take on FSW in Ft. Myers.
