Indian River Takes Two at Miami Dade

Freshman pitcher Liz Gollin (15-3) didn't allow a single run against Miami Dade College, throwing a complete game shutout and leading IRSC to a 6-0 victory game one victory on Wednesday.

The Pioneers secured the victory thanks to four runs in the second inning. The big bats in the inning were led by doubles by Savannah Julylia and Jaden Kline and a home run by Dream Aaron. Gollin got the win tossing went seven innings, allowing zero runs on four hits, striking out five and walking one. Taylor Strickland went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Pioneers in hits.

In the game two win got their offense started when Taylor Strickland tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. Dawn Bodrug (10-6) was credited with the victory. . She surrendered two runs on four hits over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Valerie Alvarado threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen earning the save. IRSC totaled 12 hits in the game. Savannah Julylia, Strickland, and Jaden Kline all had multiple hits for "The River." Julylia led the offense with three hits in four at bats.

The 33-11 Pioneers return to action of Friday in Ft. Lauderdale taking on Broward State College.  Game times are 5:00 and 7:00.
