Indian River Splits with Eastern Florida

Sophomore catcher Jaden Kline led Indian River State College to a hard fought 10-7 game one victory by driving in four runs. She went 3-for-4 at the plate. Kline drove in runs on a single in the first, a home run in the fifth, and a double in the sixth. The offensive onslaught was led by Danielle Bieberle and Kline.Valerie Alvarado (8-2) was the winning pitcher. She lasted four innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out two. The Pioneers racked up nine hits in the game. Kline and Crystal Grimaldo each managed multiple hits. Kline went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead her team in hits.

In game to IRSC fought back after falling down by four runs in the fifth inning but comeback fell just short though, in a 5-4 defeat to Eastern Florida State. The Pioneers scored three runs in the failed comeback on a sacrifice fly by Adriana Otero and a double by Brittini NorwoodDawn Bodrug (9-6) took the loss, she surrendered three runs on four hits over four innings, striking out four. Valerie Alvarado threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Savannah Julylia went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits.
