On Thursday IRSC won both games of a double-header in softball from State College of Florida Manatee. Pitchers Elizabeth Gollin and Valerie Alvarado both tossed complete game three hit shutouts for "The River."
In the 9-1 opening game victory IRSC scored 8 runs in the first inning. Crystal Grimaldo, Jaden Kline, Adriana Otero, Taylor Strickland, Danielle Bieberle, and Michalyn Bingham each drove in runs during the inning. Pitcher Elizabeth Gollin tossed five inning, allowing one unearned run on three hits and striking out five. Otero, Bingham, Savannah Julylia, Bieberle, and Strickland each collected one hit to lead the offense.
In the second game Valerie Alvarado was dominant in the circle, allowing no runs, three hits and struck out five in the complete game shutout. IRSC opened up scoring in the first inning when Jaden Kline singled on a 0-2 count, driving in the game's first run. Dream Aaron, Kline, and Crystal Grimaldo all had one hit to lead the offense
IRSC returns to action on Saturday in Ft. Pierce taking on 32 ranked College of Central Florida. First pitch of game one is at 1:00pm, game two is scheduled for 3:00pm.
