Beckstead-Holman named 2022 FCSAA Male Athlete of the Year

The Florida College System Activities Association has announced William Beckstead-Holman of Indian River State College as the 2022 Male Athlete of the Year for Region VIII. 

Becksted-Holman, a native of Canada, became the fastest man in the history of NJCAA swimming in the 50 and 100 backstroke events in route to setting new NJCAA National Records at the 2022 NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships held in Ft. Pierce this past March.  Additionally, he went on to capture individual national titles in the 200 backstroke and 100 IM.  He was a member of the NJCAA National Record setting 800 Freestyle relay and captured three more relay titles as a member of the 400 Freestyle relay and the 200 and 400 Medley relays.  He was named the 2022 NJCAA Male Swimmer of the year for his accolades:  set two NJCAA National Records in individual events, set and NJCAA National Record as a member of one relay, named an 8-time NJCAA All-American, won four individual national titles and was a member of four NJCAA champion relays.
