IRSC WINS COLLEGIATE SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS MARCH 17-20, 2021
This past weekend (March 17-20, 2021) saw the Indian River Men's and Women's swimming and diving teams compete in Collegiate Swimming Championships held at IRSC. The meet was a co-hosted by IRSC and Keiser University and included teams from the NAIA collegiate division.
The competition schedule followed a normal 3 day NCAA format with an additional day (day 1) being used to compete the 800 free relay. IRSC used their depth to place multiple athletes into the finals to be able to outscore the strong competition from the NAIA teams. By the end of the competition, IRSC's men won 5 of the 20 events.
On the men's side, Chance Conde took the win in the 500 and 1650 freestyle, and TJ Ray won both the 1m and 3m diving events. IRSC other event win came from Michael Deans in the 200 breaststroke.
IRSC will next compete at the NJCAA Championships to held at IRSC on April 28-May 1, 2021. This competition had a change in date and venue due to the pandemic.
