IRSC Swimming and Diving Versus Florida Atlantic University

The IRSC swimming and diving teams hosted Florida Atlantic University on Friday October 26th at the Anne Wilder Aquatic Complex located on the main campus of IRSC in Fort Pierce. This was the team's first dual meet of the season and saw the men's team come away with a victory (186-113), while the women suffer a loss with a score of 119-181.

Despite coming away with a loss, it was a good day for the women's team with 4 individual and 2 relay victories. Individual wins came from Camryn Hudson (200 fly), Camryn Wheals (100 free), Sule van der Merwe (200 back), and Savanna Best (200 breast). These four also teamed up to win the 400 medley relay, and in the 200 free relay Wheals also teamed up with Eliannna Kennon, Liz Watts, and Emma Colvin for the victory.

The men's competition saw IRSC come away with the victory having won 13 of the 16 events. Those wins came from both the 400 medley relay (Conor Lynch, Christian Nishimura, Ruben van Leeuwen, and Kevin Bargate), and the 200 free relay (van Leeuwen, Ryen van Wyk, Josh Stegen, and Colton Gray). On the individual side, 8 team members each won at least one event. These wins came from Jarryd Baxter (1000 and 500 free), Ruben van Leeuwen (100 and 200 fly), Kevin Bargate (100 and 200 free), Jared Ingram (100 back), Josh Stegen (100 breast), Ryen Van Wyk (50 free), Olle Williamsson (200 breast), and Christian Nishimura (200 IM).

IRSC will compete again at home on Friday November 2nd at 12pm when they host NOVA Southeastern University men and women, and also Florida International University women
