Indian River defeats Florida Southern College in last event to secure victory

The Indian River Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams continued their season this past weekend hosting Florida Southern College. During the competition, both colleges would exchange leads numerous times, but in the end, it would be a winner take all in the last relay in order to secure victory.

For the women it was the team of Sophia Diagne, Elianna Kennon, Courtney Stewart and Malin Wallen taking the win to help their teammate's defeat FSC 105 – 100. On the men's side, the team of Ruben van Leeuwen, Ryen van Wyk, Kevin Bargate, and Luka Tomic secured a 103-102 victory with their relay win.

Other event winners for IRSC's women were Sule van der Merwe (1000 and 500 free), Malin Wallen (200 and 100 free), and Sophia Diagne (200 IM and 100 Fly). On the men's side, event winners were the 200 Medley relay (Ruben van Leeuwen, Eric Veit, Ryen van Wyk, and Guillaume Bolivard), Guillaume Bolivard (50 and 100 free), Gabi Sasia (200 IM), and Ruben van Leeuwen (100 fly),

Up next for IRSC will be the Craigie Memorial Invitational being held at the main campus of IRSC February 2-4, 2018.
