Indian River Hosts Winter Invitational

The Indian River men's and women's team returned to action for the second half of the season when they played hosts to Lincoln College and Lewis University in the Indian River Winter Invitational held at the main campus in Fort Pierce.

The host team secured a victory in both the men's and women's competition. Final scores for the women were IRSC 223 – Lincoln 39, and IRSC 206 – Lewis 77, and for the men IRSC 238.5 – Lincoln 42.5, and IRSC 193.5 – Lewis 92.5.

In the women's competition, IRSC won all 16 events contested with wins coming from Courtney Perrett (100 breast, 100 fly), Liz Watts (200 free and 200 IM), Chasitity Haxton (1m diving), Sule van der Merwe (1650 free), Malin Wallen (50 breast and 500 free), Courtney Stewart (50 and 100 back), Elianna Kennon (50 free), Sophia Diagne (100 free and 50 fly) and Coy Jones (3m diving). IRSC also won the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay.

On the men's side of the competition, the IRSC men's team won 12 of the 16 events with wins also coming in both the relays. In the individual events the winners were Conor Lynch (1650 free), Eric Veit (50 breast), Gabi Sasia (200 free), Tucker Adams (100 fly), Guillaume Bolivard (50 free), Ruen van Leeuwen (100 free and 50 fly), Christian Nishimura (100 breast), and Gavrilo Blijden (1m and 3m diving).

The next meet for the IRSC teams will be on Friday January 19th at 3pm hosting Florida Southern University.
