Loomis and Perrett set new NJCAA Championship records.

Loomis and Perrett set new NJCAA Championship records.

The Indian River State College men's and women's swim programs continued their dominant performance at the 2017 NJCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.  Along the way on day three of competition, two NJCAA National Records were broken.

Courtney Perrett, freshman sprinter from South Africa, established a new NJCAA National Record in the 50 breaststroke.  Her mark of 28.84 was established as a split in the first half of her 100 breaststroke victory.  The previous record was held by Christina Loh, IRSC alum and current NCAA Championship qualifier for Florida State University.

The second record of the night came in the Men's 200 Butterfly.  Nick Loomis, University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill signee, set the mark of 1:46.10, his second record of the championships and third of the season.  Loomis erased the mark held by Robbie Sullivan, another IRSC alum, who went on to compete for the University of California Golden Bears as an NCAA qualifier.
