Swimmer Nick Loomis sets new NJCAA record

Nick Loomis, sophomore swimmer with Indian River State College, set a new NJCAA National Record in the 100 Fly on Thursday with his time of 46.53 in the morning session of the NJCAA National Swimming & Diving Championships currently underway at Erie Community College in Buffalo, New York.  This is the second time this season Loomis has achieved the national mark in the event.  In December, while participating at the Spartan Invite hosted by the University of Tampa in Clearwater, Florida, Loomis went 46.93 to take down the previous record held by Stefan Stojmenovic, former IRSC swimmer and current team member at Florida State University.  Upon graduation, Loomis will attend the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill as a scholarship recipient.
