Woodard Named All-American for the Second Time

 

CHARLOTTE, NC – Indian River State College (IRSC) Sophomore Jayshayne Woodard was named to the NJCAA Division I Basketball 2024 All-American Third Team on Tuesday, April 9. The honor was Woodard's second such award after being named All-American First Team last season. For the 2023-2024 season Woodard averaged 15.5 points per game, 10.5 rebounds per game and 6.8 assists per game while shooting 51.4% from the floor and 36.3% from 3. Woodard led the Pioneers to a 26-6 record while recording three triple-doubles in the process, the first such in school history.

 "We are so proud of Jayshayne. Not only has he had tremendous success on the court, Jay has been our a great leader of our team and true student athlete on campus," said Head Coach Bill Morosco. "Jay epitomizes the 'River Way' and he is a young man that everyone at IRSC should be very proud of."

 The honor is IRSC's third straight All-American and Coach Bill Morosco's fourth straight overall.
