Woodard Earns Back to Back Player of the Week Awards
FORT PIERCE, FL – Jayshayne Woodard was named Region VIII Player of the Week once again for the final week of the regular season. The award was his second consecutive Player of the Week honors and his third for the season. For the week, Woodard averaged 20.5 points per game, 11.5 rebounds per game and 8.5 assists per game. Indian River went undefeated during the week with a 108-83 win over Polk State and a 79-76 win over nationally ranked Florida Southwestern (FSW). In the Polk State game, Woodard totaled 17 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists – his third triple-double of the season. Against FSW, Woodard had 23 points, nine rebounds and six assists.
"We are extremely proud of Jay. He's done things the right way, worked extremely hard and has been a great leader for our team all season. He deserves every accolade that comes his way," said Head Coach Bill Morosco.
