Men's Basketball Defeats HCC On The Road

Indian River Men's Basketball earns their second southern conference win Tuesday night at Hillsborough. The defense traveled for the Pioneers as they forced Hillsborough into 25 turnovers on the night. The Pioneers were led by Sophomore Micah Octave who scored a game high 22 points to go with 8 rebounds. Sophomore Ocypher Owens had a big night off the bench scoring 20 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Jyre Mccloud, Antoine Jacks, and Jayshayne Woodard also scored in double figure. Mccloud scored 12, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Jacks scored 14 on 4 made 3s with 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Woodard scored 11 points and had a game high 13 rebounds. Hillsborough was led by Zach Johnson who scored 18 points off the bench. Coach Morosco's thoughts on the game "I'm proud of how our guys competed, especially in our press. Hillsborough is a talented team and they made some runs, but our guys stayed the course and never quit and we were able to come away with a big road win tonight."
