IRSC Men's Basketball win against Santa Fe

IRSC Men's Basketball win against Santa Fe

Fort Pierce, Florida – The Pioneers came out strong on Saturday and took an early 9-2 lead over Santa Fe College.  IRSC had been plagued by some slow starts, but came out with more urgency and capitalized on excellent ball movement to build the early advantage.  Santa Fe did battle back and tied the score at 19, before Tanahj Pettway answered with a three-point basket.  The scoring margin increased to double figures several times in the first half and IRSC headed to the locker-room with the score being 52-37.

Santa Fe got going offensively and went on an early 8-2 run and pulled the score to 54-45, before Tadre Morse got loose from the Santa Fe defender and drove the lane for a two-hand jam.  The lead stayed at double digits for most of the second half as IRSC went on to an 87-69 victory.

Miles Coleman had another big afternoon for the Pioneers as he tallied 22 points in the contest.  Jai Clark hit several big three-point shots for the cause and contributed 17 with Pettway and LaMont following up with 12 points each. IRSC will be in action on Tuesday, November 26th at 7 p.m. when they travel to State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota.
