Pioneers Move to 2-0 With 107-63 Win

Fort Pierce, Florida-The Indian River State College (IRSC) Men's Basketball Team won their second game of the season with a convincing 107-63 victory over Game Changers Prep Academy.  IRSC forced numerous turnover (21 steals for the game) and disrupted Game Changers offense throughout the game, scoring 42 points off turnovers.

The Pioneers took the early lead on Mekhi Speller-Hale tip-in to increase the lead to 21 points, 37-16.  The defensive pressure continued and IRSC held a 49-28-point advantage at the half.

The pace of the game did not change in the second half with the Pioneers continuing to push the basketball up the floor.  Back-to-Back three-point baskets by Antrell Charlton and Tanahj Pettway increase the lead to 69-43 with 12:42 remaining in the contest.  IRSC finished the game with a 44-point win, 107-63.

IRSC had 5 players score in double figures with Linton Brown leading the way with 27.  Pettway also had a big night tossing in 15 points and dishing out 4 assists.  Other double-digit scorers for the Pioneers were Drew LaMont with 15, Jai Clark 14, and Miles Coleman added 10 points. 

IRSC (2-0 on the season) will host State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota at 7 p.m. at the 4th Annual IRSC Men's Basketball Veterans Classic, which is sponsored by The Van Duzer Foundation.
