The IRSC Men’s Basketball Team Loses At Jacksonville

Jacksonville, FL - The Indian River State College (IRSC) Men's Basketball Team got off to a very slow offensive start on Tuesday finding themselves down 22-4 with 7:37 to go in the half. IRSC went on an 8-0 run in the second half and tied the game with 15 minutes remaining in the game.   The lead went back and forth several times, before Jacksonville increased their lead to 3 after converting a lob pass for a lay-up with 40 seconds left in the contest. The Pioneers were unsuccessful in ever regaining the lead as their record dropped to 5-1 with the loss.  The Pioneers shot a dismal 35% from the field and 52% from the free-throw line. "We weren't ready to play at the start of the game and you just can't start that poorly and win on the road", stated IRSC Head Coach Charlie Wilson.  Kimani Binder was the only Pioneer to score in double figures with 17 points.

IRSC will try and get back on the winning track when they travel to Lake City this Saturday, November 17, when they take on Florida Gateway College.  The game will start at 2 p.m.
