Indian River State College Men Defeat ASA

IRSC men's basketball team collected their 9th conference win on Saturday as they defeated ASA 104-90.

It was not an easy win for the Pioneers as they trailed by 1 at the half 48-47 and didn't take the lead until Oliver Ehrnvall connected on a three-point shot giving IRSC a 62-59 lead.  Deontae Weaver scored two three-point buckets to increase the lead to 89-76 with 4:44 left in the game, and the Pioneers would keep the lead in double digits the remainder of the contest. 

Leading scorer for The River was Justin Tucker who had a big night scoring 27 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.  He controlled both ends of the glass and converted on 11-14 field goals.  Other top scorers were Cedric Jackson 22, Deontae Weaver 15, and Anthony Brown with 13 points.    

IRSC will next be in action on February 27th when they take on Broward College in Fort Pierce with a 7 p.m. tip-off.
