IRSC Men Lose To Broward

The Indian River State College men's basketball lost their first conference game of the season to Broward College 84-77.

The Pioneers started the game ice cold finding themselves down 14-2 before clawing their way back to tie the game at 19 with 9:34 to go in the first half.  IRSC's shooting woes would continue as they went into half time down 34-28 and had several open shots they were unable to connect on.

"We didn't have the right mind set at the start of the game and found ourselves down a considerable amount before we got on track," pointed out IRSC Head Coach Charlie Wilson.  The Pioneers cut into the lead several times in the second half, but were unable to ever take the lead.  IRSC shot a dismal 7-29 from the three point line and 29-74 over-all from the field.

Leading scorers were Cedric Jackson 18, Anthony Brown 18, and Deontae Weaver added 17 points.  The loss dropped the Pioneers record to 16-6 on the season and 3-1 in the conference.  IRSC will take on Miami Dade College on January 27th at home for a 12 p.m. start.
