River Men's Basketball Team Surpasses the Century Mark

Indian River men's basketball surpassed the century mark on the scoreboard for the third time this season as they defeated State College of Florida-Jacksonville 107-68.  IRSC jumped out to a 13-0 lead with 16:24 left in the first half and built that into a twenty point lead at the break, 54-34.  The hot shooting Pioneers didn't let up in the second half and increased their lead to as many as 40 points in the second half.  IRSC connected on 13 three-point shots from five different players.  The impressive win moves IRSC's record to 6-0.  "Jacksonville is a tough place to play, but our kids came out focused and got the win," comment Head Coach Charlie Wilson.  The Pioneers continue to share the basketball with 5 players scoring in double figures led by Cedric Jackson who had a big night for The River and totaled 31 points followed by Kimani Binder with 19, Anthony Brown 14, Shaq Rombley 13, and Justin Tucker tallied 11.   

IRSC will be in action this weekend as they travel to Waycross Georgia for the Okefenokee College Classic featuring South Georgia State College, Denmark Technical College, Andrew College, and IRSC.  IRSC will take on Andrew College on Friday November 17th at 6 p.m. and on Saturday the 18th will take on the host team South Georgia State College for a 4 p.m. tip-off.  The tournament will be a real test for the Pioneers, "This will be a real challenge for our team, it will give us a chance to see if we can compete at a high level on the road against quality teams," pointed out Coach Wilson.
