Indian River State College sophomore Andrew Anderson signed a national letter of intent with NCAA Division II American International College (AIC) located in Springfield, Massachusetts, for the 2017-201 season. AIC competes in the Northeast 10 Conference and is coached by Andy Burkholder. IRSC Head Coach Charlie Wilson commented on Anderson's signing, "I am really excited for Andrew, American International College and Cpach BUrkholder, they are getting a high quality young man who s a warrior on the court."

Anderson a 6'5" bruising power forward from Brampton, Ontario, helped lead IRSC to 34 overall wins and 16 conference wins in his two years as a Pioneer.  He provided some much needed muscle leading the team in rebounding his freshmen and sophomore seasons.  He averaged 9.6 points per game and pulled in 6.8 rebounds and shot 54.2% from the field during the 2016-17 season. Anderson led Region 20 in field goal percentage with 64% his freshmen season and shot 58.8% overall in his two years at the River.  He was selected to the Florida Southern All-Conference Second Team for the 2016-17 season.  He finished his Indian River career with 520 points and 365 rebounds.

"I am very thankful for the opportunity to have coached Andrew these past two years.  His energy, work ethic, and leadership have had a major impact on our program.  I am looking forward to watching Andrew have a great career at AIC," stated Coach Wilson.

Anderson was very appreciative of his two year experience, "being at Indian River really changed my life, I will carry what I have learned here not only going on to American International College, but for the rest of my life."
