Farley moves on to Nyack College

Indian River State College (IRSC) sophomore Elijah Farley signed a national letter of intent with Nyack College for the 2017-18 season.  Farley liked the family atmosphere, "I chose Nyack because I felt a part of the family as soon as I got on campus and met the team.  It felt like a home away from home."  Nyack College is located in Nyack, New York and competes in the Central Atlantic Conference.  Nyack College is coached by Jason Crafton who begins his sixth season as head coach.  "Elijah is a high-character person who immediately fit in with our team right away.  He is exactly what we were looking for, and we are excited that he is a part of our program," stated Coach Crafton.

Farley, a 5'8" point guard from Orlando, Florida was a second team all-conference selection in the Florida Southern Conference.  He handled the majority of the ball handling responsibilities for IRSC and had several games where he played the complete 40 minutes.  He led the State of Florida in assists with a 6.6 average and a remarkable 191 assists for the year.  He also scored 8.5 points per game and scored in double figures 12 times for the Pioneers.

"I am really happy for Eli," stated Head Coach Charlie Wilson. "It has been a priviledge to coach and work with him.  He was the first young man to sign with us once we got here to Indian River and over the past two years he has been a huge part in the shift in mindset we have made. Eli's passion for the game, work ethic on the court, and basketball IQ has rubbed offon each of his teammates and resulted in him beng an invaluable piece to our program. I am excited to watch Eli have the exact same effect on the Nyack program. THe Warriors are getting a great young man."

Prior to attending Indian River, Farley led his high school team, Winter Park High School (FL) to a 29-3 record as a junior. He helped lead them to a Florida 8A State Championship and scored 25 points in an overtime win over top ranked Evans High School. He was awarded the Most Valuable Player of the Florida State Tournament.

Farley was a member of Head Coach Charlie Wilson's first recruiting class and was very instrumental in IRSC's quick turnaround leading them to 34 overall wins and 16 conference wins in his two years/ "Within these last two years here at Indian River I have watched myself grow as a players and a young man. With this coming to an end I would like to thank everyone that is a part of the River family who have helped me accomplish what I did as a Pioneer," commented Farley on his two years at Indian River State College.
