The Pioneers Get Back On Track at ASA

The Pioneers got off to a slow start and fell behind 9-2 but the hot shooting of  Eli Farley (5'8" point guard, Orlando, FL) helped IRSC take a 3 point lead into the half 31-28.  Farley hit 3 three-point baskets in the first half and totaled 5 three-pointers for the contest. "We had no energy early in the game, but we found a way to get ourselves moving a little better in the second half," pointed out IRSC Head Coach Charlie Wilson.

The Pioneers outscored ASA 46-31 in the second half, led by 6'4" guard Shaun Willett (Palm Bay, FL) who tallied 17 points in the second half.  Willett had two monster dunks and scored on several power moves around the basket to jump start the IRSC offense.  The Pioneers did a solid job on the defensive end of the floor as well only allowing 59 points for the game, the lowest total for IRSC second semester and the fourth lowest total of the season.

The Pioneers had 5 players score in double figures, Willett with 17 points, Farley 15, Willy Nunez (6'6" Guard, Orlando, FL) 14, Joshua Oliver (6'8" Forward, Jacksonville, FL) and Andrew Anderson (6'5" Forward, Brampton, Ontario) both added 10.

IRSC will travel back to Miami on Saturday the 11th for a 4 p.m. tip-off with Miami-Dade College.
