Indian River Baseball Splits at Kickoff Classic

In the top of the seventh inning, Indian River State College Pioneers tied things up at five when Diego Alana singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Jorge DeCardenas was on the hill for Indian River State College Pioneers Varsity. DeCardenas went two and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out three.  Angelo Smith threw four and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Indian River State College Pioneers Varsity launched two home runs on the day. Matthew Rubin had a four bagger in the fourth inning. Connor Foscow had a homer in the second inning.

In the Second Game Indian River State College Pioneers Varsity put up seven runs in the second inning.  The big inning was thanks to singles by Samuel and Raul Feliz, a walk by Jackson Wodroska, and a double by Connor Foscow.

Gavin Adams got the win for Indian River State College Pioneers Varsity. The righty went three innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out seven and walking zero.  Jefferey Gonzalez, Alexis Ruiz, and Brian Ehrlich all put in work in relief out of the

bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
