IRSC Baseball wins series vs. Palm Beach

Indian River State College Pioneers bounces back Friday evening with a 7 – 6 win vs Palm Beach State College. On Wednesday afternoon the panthers beat the River 10 -6 after a great hitting performance. In a rematch Friday the game was tied at five with the Pioneers batting in the top of the twelfth inning, when Paul Benetez-Diaz tripled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. IRSC Pioneers collected nine hits and Palm Beach State had 11.

Joseph Clement pitched the Pioneers to victory as he surrendered one run on two hits over two innings, striking out one. Joseph came in during key moments after Christian O'Kelly started the game allowing six hits and four runs throughout seven innings. Darien Rorabeck threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

The River had a great hitting performance with a total of nine hits. Jackson Muldowney, Josh Shrouder, and Levi Aguila all managed multiple hits.

In the third matchup on Saturday afternoon the Pioneers won 4 – 2 against Palm Beach.

Javier Rivera played a major part in the win for the pioneers, he allowed seven hits and two runs over seven and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking zero. Ryan Benson threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Rivera recorded the last 23 outs to earn the save for IRSC Baseball.

Indian River State College Pioneers Varsity totaled ten hits. Jackson Muldowney and Carter Chancey each managed multiple hits. Muldowney led the Pioneers with three hits in three at bats. Indian River State College Pioneers was short -handed and didn't commit a single error.
