The River flexes their muscles to bring exciting end to two game series

The River offense came out firing on all cylinders in game 2 against ASA College.

The Pioneers smacked 4 home runs in the 10-3 win at home on Saturday. Hunter Holland, Axel Salgado, Cole Brutcher, and AJ Hrica all homered and did major damage to the ASA pitching staff.  Hrica's home run was the first of his IRSC career.

The 10 runs were more than enough support for the freshman Nikolas Bitner.  Bitner stifled the ASA offense all day long on his way to his first complete game of his career.  Bitner allowed only 3 runs and struck out 9 batters

The final game of the series would not bring the offensive explosion that happened in game 1 of the doubleheader against ASA earlier that morning. The ASA pitching staff kept the Pioneers off balance all game.  The River could only manage 3 hits in the game which lead to a 1-0 loss.  With chances few and far between, IRSC just couldn't get a big knock to push across a run.

Tyler Suellentrop, Tyler Lavery, and Eli Finney were brilliant on the mound for the Pioneers.  The combination of the three only allowed 2 hits while striking out 7 in the ballgame.  Suellentrop suffered the lost despite pitching one of his best outings of the season.
