Bitner Dominates and The River Takes Game 3 Over Eastern Florida

The River offense exploded for 9 runs in the 6th to give starter Nikolas Bitner plenty of run support for the Freshman to work with.  However, Bitner did not need much help as he dominated from pitch one in the 12-0 victory on Saturday.  Bitner threw a complete game shutout while striking out 5 and only allowing 3 hits on the day.  Bitner earned his 4th win of the year and is now sitting at 4-2 this season.

IRSC mashed 14 hits in the 7-inning game on Saturday.  It was a complete team effort, as 8-9 hitters in the lineup contributed with a base hit in the ballgame.  The offense really exploded in the 6th inning with a 9-run inning.  JD Stubbs stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and a chance to break open the game.  Stubbs didn't disappoint, as he blasted a grand slam over the right field wall for his 3rd home run of the year.  Stubbs drove in a total of 6 runs on the day.  Axel Salgado pitched in with one knock and 3 RBI's on the day.  Cole Brutcher, AJ Hrica, and Hunter Holland all had multi-hit games as well.
