IRSC Loses the Rubber Match to Dade

IRSC Loses the Rubber Match to Dade

The River found themselves in a deep hole early in the game.  Dade scored 9 runs in the first 2 innings of Saturday's ballgame, but The River showed fight and continued to chip away at the lead.  Unfortunately, the deficit was too much to come back from as the Pioneers went down 11-8 to Dade.

The offense had an impressive day at the plate tallying a total of 11 hits in the game.  Cole Brutcher lead the way with a 3-4 day including an RBI.  Hunter Holland went 2-4 on the day and added his 5th home run of the year.  Axel Salgado also had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs in the game.  Michael Stovman continued to swing a hot bat as he added 2 hits on the day including his 1st triple of the season, and 2 RBI's.

The bullpen was fantastic for The River on Saturday as they kept the Pioneers in the game.  Tyler Suellentrop went 3 innings and struck out 8 batters while only giving up 2 hits.  Tyler Lavery worked 2.1 innings and didn't allow a run.  Christian O'Kelly chipped in 0.2 innings of work without allowing a hit.  The River is off from conference this week, but they will look to get on a winning streak with their matchups against Lafleche College on Monday, and a series with ASA starting on Friday.
