IRSC Bounces Back Nicely with a Strong Showing

The River showed tremendous resiliency as they bounced back to earn a 6-2 win over Kirkwood Community College on Monday.  Michael Stovman set the tone for the week with his strong starting performance on the mound.  Stovman went 5.2 innings allowing 2 runs and striking out 4 Kirkwood batters on his way to his 3^rd win of the year.  Zach Audet threw 1.2 innings while striking out 2 and allowing 0 runs in his outing.  Audet has yet to allow an earned run in 6 appearances so far this season.  Christian O'Kelly earned his 2^nd save of the season by pitching the final 1.2 innings for the Pioneers.

Carter Chancey was the catalyst for The River offense on Monday afternoon.  Chancey went 2-3 on the day and lead the team in RBI's with 2.  Paul Benitez and Axel Salgado both did their parts offensively as Benitez had 2 hits including a double and a stolen base, and Salgado drove in a run.  The River will look to build on this win in their next matchup on Wednesday against Miami Dade.
