The River’s late push isn’t enough to secure a win versus Lake Sumter State College

The Pioneers faced Lake Sumter State College and found themselves in a tough spot down 6-3 in the bottom of the 9th inning with one out, in Wednesday's game. With nobody on, AJ Hrica and Danny Camilo gave the offense a spark as Hrica got on with a walk and Camilo got on with a hit by pitch.  Cole Brutcher then stepped to the plate and delivered a monster opposite field 3 run home run to tie the game 6-6.  That score would not change and unfortunately, the game could not be extended to extra innings due to lack of sunlight.  Brett Mercier led IRSC in hits on the day with 3.  AJ Hrica also chipped in with 2 hits and 2 RBI's.  Cole Brutcher led the team in RBI's with 4 and also blasted his 4th and 5th home runs of the year.

On the mound for The River, Niels Stone got the start.  Stone went 3.1 innings giving up 5 runs and striking out 1.  Tyler Lavery, and Zach Audet both impressed in their 1st outings of the year, as they both went 2 innings giving up 0 runs.  Christian O'Kelly also went 1.2 innings giving up 1 run and striking out 1.
