The River Offense Comes To Life In A High-Scoring Contest

The IRSC Pioneers dug themselves an early hole and couldn't come back in a 6-1 loss to College Of Central Florida on Saturday in game 1 of the doubleheader.

College Of Central Florida's offense started early by scoring on a three run home run by Flores, and a solo home run by Smallwood in the first inning.  Niels Stone had his first career start as a member of The Pioneers. Stone lasted two and a third innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out two and walking one.

Christian O'Kelly and Eli Finney entered the game in relief, throwing two and two-thirds innings and two innings respectively.  O'Kelly came in and dominated the middle innings.  His final line included three K's, zero runs, and only one hit in two and two-thirds innings.  Cole Brutcher, Diego Ramos, AJ Hrica, Carter Chancey, and Paul Benitez each contributed to the offense by tallying one hit a piece, to lead The Pioneers.  The lone run for the Pioneers came on a Cole Brutcher home run to right field.  College Of Central Florida totaled ten hits in the game.  Mollaik and May both managed multiple hits for College Of Central Florida.
