Eastern Florida came out swinging Friday as they put up five 1st inning runs on five hits. The Pioneers, behind the eight ball, fought to work their way back into the game but they had no such luck.
Facing Eastern Florida's ace may have had something to do with that as Romero was dominant on this day. The Pioneers scored two runs in this one on four hits which was not nearly enough to mount a comeback. The River has had a similar game to this one at Eastern on a Friday night and hopefully history repeats itself Saturday as the Pioneers won the backside of that weekend series last time.
The Pioneers take on Eastern at 3:00pm Saturday at home.
