The Pioneers took on Palm Beach State College Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm in Lake Worth. The Pioneers starting pitcher, Andres Fernandez, had a solid bounce back start throwing a complete game. His eight innings and 3 earned runs kept the Pioneers in the game but the offense never broke through.
It was a windy afternoon in Palm Beach and Indian River saw several well struck balls knocked down by the wind. The Pioneers finally broke through in the 9th and eliminated the shutout, but the Panthers limited the damage and took the 4-1 victory.
The Pioneers will be in action again Tuesday and Wednesday against Eastern Florida. Tuesdays game will be in Melbourne at 6:00 and Wednesdays game will be at home in Fort Pierce
