Pioneers Fall in Extras on Monday

The Pioneers took on ASA and lost 6-3 in 10 inning of play. The Pioneers were lead by Tyler Suellentrop who got the start and went 8.2 innings. Suellentrop gave up three runs on seven hits and kept the Pioneers in the game long enough to mount a comeback and tie the ball game 3-3 in the bottom of the 9th. Offensively Kohl Gilmore continues to be the focal point of the River lineup, turning in a 3-4 performance including a big hit in the 9th that helped set up the game tying sac fly by David Carnicella. Edward Mckenna started to show signs of life with a 2-3 performance that included a walk and a double. The sophomore was one of the offensive leaders for the Pioneers last season and they look forward to him adding some depth to the lineup moving forward. The Pioneers are in action again Wednesday at 3pm against the College of Central Florida here in Fort Pierce. Brando Centrone will get the start, his first of the season. The starter
